House Stark Minimalist by LiquidSoulDesign House Stark Minimalist by LiquidSoulDesign
After creating the Game of Thrones Poster series I decided to try a new approach to some poster designs.

This is a true minimalist approach where I have only taken two features from each of the animals represting the houses.

Although I would like to do more I dont think this will work for many houses.

*Update*

Minor Edit to the wolfs nose to make it more wolf like.

Hey, I'm in a smaller local band from Canada and I was wondering if I could use some of your design to put on a t-shirt - mainly the wolf eyes and nose. It would be an ultra limited print (no more than 30 or so shirts), could we use it for a small fee (we don't have much money...)

Saw this on Google and I recognized it as yours so I came back here to let you know I'd definitely buy a print. I saw you have it listed as an option for only one of yourspieces so if you don't do it I'm not gonna cry a river.

I'm really digging these minimalist designs. I decided to comment on this one because I found something to critique; however, it, like the others, both minimalist and not, is pretty awesome. So here's the critique: the two-color scheme on all of these posters works really well. I like the idea of using minimalism to illustrate the sigil of the house, and it creates a very compelling negative space. However, it means that the features that you do illustrate must be spot on. In this one particularly, I find the nostrils more reminiscent of a pig's snout than of a wolf. The nose looks large compared to the eyes (though at least one of the other minimalist designs *arryn* has smaller eyes than I'd expect as well) and the shape of the nostrils looks strange. it may work better with thinner, more linear shapes for nostrils, which connect to the outer white area.

Just my two cents. Awesome work.

I know what you mean. I found I wasn't really happy with the wolf's nose as I agree with the fact the nostrils are a bit too big. I will revist this when I get a chance :-) I'll also take a look at the falcons eyes as well.

Thank you for your comment though :-)
